The owners of the Pondok Pitaya are Michael Canada, Komang Latri his wife and Putu Gunung the son. Former originators of the Zen Inn in Padang Bay and the Villa Amlapura in downtown Karangasem, both since sold, the couple opened Pondok Pitaya in June 2007. With previous recognition in the Lonely Planet for unusual architecture and tasty pizza this family business proudly promotes comfortable settings and hearty delicious food.

Agus, the bartender will set you up with your favorite libation and Putu Kojer, the head waiter likes to ride the inside left hander when he’s not serving you a spicy Burrito Diablo with his right. Some say he’s the nicest waiter in Bali.

The girls in the kitchen; Wayan, Komang and Ibu Lo work from morning til night concocting curry, baking pizza and BBQing everything. Make sure you let them know if you like spicy!

And yet another Ibu Lo and met Anny round out the crew taking care of the house keeping.
